Long-term investors continue to hodl despite $1T Bitcoin market cap

by Gordon James

Liquid bitcoin trading continues to decline, with only 36% of circulating BTC circulating on the blockchain in the past six months.

According to online crypto-currency aggregator Glassnode, which published on 21. March, 50% of the supply of bitcoin in circulation at the peak of the 2017 bull market over the past six months.

In bull markets, older coins tend to move more. This increases the relative supply of younger coins online.

At previous $BTC peaks, about 50% of #Bitcoin offers were less than 6 months old.

We are currently well below that number (36%).https://t.co/D40RJ5FlAA pic.twitter.com/OIOnnChpk0

The data shows that few long-term investors are inclined to sell their bitcoin at current prices, suggesting that bitcoin whales are pushing for higher prices and that the current uptrend is much more likely to succeed.

Comparing the age of the BTC movement along the chain can provide insight into market sentiment. When prices reach new highs, it is normal for older coins to be sold at a profit, but this trend seems to be abating, indicating that investors are choosing to hold onto their assets.

The current BTC supply is 18.66 million, or 88.85% of the 21 million limit. It has also been reported that approximately one-fifth of all BTC has been lost or stolen, indicating that the actual stock of bitcoins in circulation may be significantly lower, exacerbating the shortage of the asset.

Glassnode data shared by noted cryptocurrency analyst Willy Woo on the same day also noted significant activity on the blockchain, with bitcoin market cap crossing the $1 trillion mark and 7.3% of BTC stock changing hands, while the asset has a 13-figure capitalization.

The data illustrating the distribution of UTXO realized prices (URPD) tracks the unused results of bitcoin transactions at different prices. said Wu :

This is a pretty solid price validation; $1T is already actively backed by investors. I’d say there’s a good chance we’ll never see bitcoin go below $1T again.

The URPD is a price lens that reflects the price at which coins last moved, assuming they were bought by investors, he added.

However, Wu noted that the movement of coins within the chain does not always indicate active trading, as exchanges regularly move their digital assets internally.

Picture Bird – Bird Identifier is an interesting utility that allows users to identify any bird they see by simply taking a picture of it and uploading it to the platform.

Working with Picture Bird – Bird Identification is very simple: On the main screen we find several buttons: the central one, the camera button, which allows us to call up the identification of the insect by simply clicking on it. From here we can take pictures of birds with the camera on our device and let the device do its job. Then we find other buttons that allow us to connect to the records of other users: from the map we can see the birds recorded in our area; from the user category we can find other records created from the application.

If you take a picture of a bird and let the app identify the bird, one of two things can happen: either the program uniquely describes the bird and tells us what bird it is (and supports the description with images), or it forces us to choose between different possibilities. By clicking on the creature’s name, you can access its complete record, including its scientific name, areas of occurrence, etc.

Picture Bird – Bird Identifier is a great bird identification tool, perfect for any birder looking for a way to record all the birds they see, or just for those who want to see the area they live in from a different perspective.
